The FF3FM header set was primarily designed for 1964-68 Ford Mustang applications using aftermarket Fatman Fabrications coil-over, rack and pinion front ends. The FF3FM may work in other Ford compacts built on the Mustang platform. Also fits other rack and pinion setups on the Mustang chassis. The FF3FM features excellent spark plug and ground clearance while providing performance gains over factory exhaust manifolds.

FINISH:
Our Ceramic Coating is recommended for every vehicle application and is the default finish selection choice above. To meet high standards of quality, We apply a multi-layer inside and outside aluminized ceramic coating in-house and then polish the coating to a high luster. This aerospace and military-grade technology adds excellent protection to your headers while offering the benefit of thermal control in your engine bay. It also improves cylinder scavenging of exhaust gases and increases the longevity of your header investment.
SB Ford Flanges
We offer three primary header flange styles for small block Ford engines—the standard rectangular flange, and two square port flanges. The square port flange choices are based on the mounting bolt spacing. Some small block Ford cylinder heads use either a 2.0″ or 3.0″ spacing Some include both mounting holes.
A fourth flange style is available on some header sets for the Roush-style SB 427 cylinder heads. Although this is a 3.0″ bolt spacing flange it includes substantial modification in an attempt to allow spark plug clearance. This is not a common flange design. The Roush heads present a problem due to the spark plug locations and angles. To oversimply the problem, these heads are really NOT compatible with thick 3/8″ or larger flanges!
Many aftermarket cylinder head manufacturers now use the square port shape on their products. However, that does not mean the square flange is required. The importance here is to ensure the header flange properly seals to the cylinder head. In most cases, the standard rectangular shape works perfectly, but on other heads, the square port flange is necessary. It is the customer’s responsibility to decide the correct flange for their application.
NOTE: Extra charges are incurred for headers built with the square port flange due to the additional manufacturing time required.
Below are two images showing the differences between the rectangular vs. square flange styles. The square flange provided utilizes the 2.0″: bolt spacing. Please use these images and the provided dimensions to ensure the proper flange is selected for your new Sanderson Headers from the drop-down menu on the product details.
